Some of the best parts of the campaign is meeting people and talking to people. I find out how their lives are going and what’s most important to them.
I also find things that are going on that I don’t even know about. For example, Deep Creek lake has major sediment buildup that needs to be addressed. The lake needs to be dredged (PDF – 30 MB) to help the ecology and life around the lake.
People also share a lot of the same concerns such as healthcare, college tuition, education, the environment, prescription medication costs. Everyone faces the same challenges.
Listening to people’s passions and learning about what effects their lives the most are the best parts of campaigning for me. I look forward to continuing my journey around the district door knocking, meeting people, and finding out what’s most important to them.
